Mike and Lynn McHenry opened Wedding Oak Winery near San Saba in June of 2012 and never looked back. They planted their first vineyards on 112 acres just south of San Saba. In 2010 they gave respect to a historic building in the heart of downtown San Saba. The restoration of the building created a beautiful tasting room and production property. Slowly moving south, they opened a second tasting room in Burnet, Texas. While continuing to focus on the quality of their operations, the need to expand presented the opportunity to move a bit more south. The opening of a tasting room just outside Fredericksburg at Wild Seed Farms in 2016 brought them to the heart of the Texas Wine Trail!
In May of 2019 they opened the stand-alone Wedding Oak tasting room on Hwy 290 just across from Alstadt Brewing Co. A short 6 miles from Downtown Fredericksburg. They continue to welcome wine lovers from all over!
In the short 11 years of production, the dedication to fine wine has been recognized in many places. The Mike and Lynn McHenry Family, Wedding Oak Winery wines have been recipients of awards at Houston Rodeo Uncorked, San Francisco International Wine competition, Lone Star International Wine Competition, Texas International Wine Competition, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, TEXSOM and San Antonio Rodeo Wine Competitions. The winemakers and entire team are dedicated to crafting 100% Texas grown wines that honor Texas unique terrior and wine growing conditions.
